Happy introduces Jai Dee Jak Wan – Day – Give Away service to unlock validity period for the first time in the industrys history April 26, 2007 — Happy from DTAC introduces Jai Dee Jak Wan – Day – Give Away, the new service that enables Happy prepaid customers to use a mobile phone without having to worry about expiry date. The service allows customers to extend their validity by paying as low as Bt2 per in exchange for 30 more usage days. The move is not only to satisfy prepaid users but also to support the governments policy to unlock prepaids validity limit. However, the company reserves the right to cease the offering when facing number shortage problem. DTACs Chief Executive Officer Sigve Brekke said the launch of DTAC new service is in response to the policy of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministry and the National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) which would like to see prepaid customers use their services without a fixed validity period. However, letting customers enjoy unlimited validity also means that the company must have sufficient mobile numbers to satisfy the market demand as it cannot rely on the recycling of existing numbers anymore. Thus, we fully hope that we would receive supports from related agencies on the mobile number allocation for the greatest benefit of consumers, said Brekke. Chief Commercial Officer Thana Thienachariya said the Jai Dee Jak Wan Day Give Away is the prepaid industrys first service that liberate the validity period. The move is in line with Happys concept to create happiness and fun to the industry, especially in the time that there is no new movement in the market. DTAC chooses to work on the validity period since this is something that customers demand mostly after the calling airtime. From the survey, it is found that the fixed validity period is the problem that customers mostly discontent. So once the company can reduce their dissatisfaction, this will help motivate and attract more new customers into the system. Importantly, this will benefit customers in the long run as they dont have to worry about usage dates. The new service charges only Bt2 for a request of 30 days. We have reasons to introduce the Jai Dee Jak Wan Day Give Away service during this time. Apart from responding to customers demands and the government policy, the move is to support the implementation of the Interconnection Charge (IC). We intend to continue with the service as long as there is a market demand or until we face number shortage. The launch of the Jai Dee Jak Wan Day Give Away will also encourage the industry to change its marketing approach and the way it designs new prepaid services as there is no validity limitation any longer, said Thana.
